1. TRENCHING/EXCAVATION
The ground preparation is completed utilizing shovels, a trencher or
a sod cutter. The trench is cut 1.5" deep and 10 inches wide
to accommodate the machine and to insure that the front edge of the
mower strip is at the same height as the firm sod. Deeper
trenching is necessary for the curb style. |

2. MIXING
The concrete is mixed to proper proportions in a mortar mixer.
The mix is very dry, usually done at 3.5" shovels of sand to 1
shovel of cement and 5 pints of water. If you prefer for each
mixer load, a handful of Fibermesh is added for increased strength.
The machine produces a curb with a compressive strength of 3,000
pounds per square inch. |

3. CURBMATE MACHINE
EXTRUSION
The concrete is wheeled to the site, fed into the machine, and
extruded into a beautiful continuous concrete landscape border.
The machine is electrically driven and self-propelled. |

4. FINISHING
The finishing touch to a beautiful product is accomplished with the
use of specially formed hand trowels. As an added precaution
to ground movement which may damage the concrete, control joints are
cut halfway through the edging every 3 to 4 feet. This gives
some flexibility to a very strong product. |

5. CLEAN-UP
Since there is not form work, no cement trucks, and no landscape
damage, clean up is minimal. |
